Jane Reynolds' Weekly Blog 29th May 2011

The re-vamp is 'getting there' now, but although the site still doesn't look much different to  last week, behind the scenes a lot's gone on.  A couple more weeks should have it sorted.

Part of the reason it's taking so long is that other things have been happening, and there literally aren't enough hours in the day right now for me to get everything done – unless I give up sleep completely, but that's not going to do me much good in the long run!

The Friday FryUp on Swindon 105.5 FM( 7-9 am Friday mornings), is an exciting'The Friday FryUp' with Nick & Jane on Swindon 105.5 FM & on Jane's blog 29th May opportunity for me indulge in two hours a week on the air with Nick Anderson; a man who completely cracks me up (and whose other show The Big Weekender 4-6 pm on Friday with the equally bonkers Barry Harris should be a MUST for anyone who enjoys a good Radio comedy sketch)! We've got some great ideas for the show which we'll be introducing in the next couple of weeks, and I'll tell you what they are once it's all sorted. Needless to say: it's quite time-consuming, but "I'm lovin' it," as they say!

I was also very excited to find out this week that I've been selling copies of my novel "Just Good Friends?" on Amazon.  It's a very strange system (where the author's not allowed to find out directly how many sales they've had), but it's good to know I've actually sold a few!

After a few quite challenging weeks, it's also nice to end a week on a positive note.  I just need to try and find a bit of time to be able to take a walk slightly further than the three steps from my desk to my coffee maker now!

This ought to be in the 'And Finally' section, but we haven't got The Choice Michael Buerk - on Jane Reynolds' weekly blog 29th May 2011one this week, so it's here instead!  This is the programme The Choice on Radio 4 that brought tears to my eyes on Tuesday morning (if you saw my tweet). It's the amazing story of Mikey Walsh, a gypsy boy who suffered at the hands of a violent father and of the choice he had to make on realising he was gay.

It's half an hour of incredibly moving Radio and is currently on the BBC iPlayer.  Here's the link, but it might only be there until Tuesday, so listen-in quickly if you can.  http://bbc.in/jvZYoe

Don't forget, my debut novel "Just Good Friends?" follows the lives of wealthy South London families embroiled in a series of affairs, the most surprising of which being yummy mummy Ruth and Helen's, as – after sharing a drunken kiss – their close friendship turns into something deeper and threatens to destroy Ruth's seemingly strong marriage.  Available from Amazon, Kindle or directly from the Home page of this site as a paperback or ebook.

I must tune in and listen to you on the radio Jane! I’m going to make that a date in my diary! Not having enough hours in the day must be very tiring and stressful, but I’m sure it’s all worth it, when you snuggle into your bed at the end of the day with a nice glass of wine! Xxx
